workshop 1 - BASIC TECHNIQUES IN PHOTOGRAPHY

This course is designed specifically for online delivery with participants working from home. 

Suitable for beginners it takes participants through the use of advanced digital cameras, step by step, covering basic camera techniques and image composition. Techniques that are covered include focus, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, depth of field and white ballance. Tips on image composition will discuss framing, cropping, the rule of thirds and separation of foreground and background. It includes practical sessions and a review of images taken during the course.

workshop 2 - home sweet home: photographic story telling

This course is designed specifically for online delivery with participants working from home. 

It is geared towards photographers aiming to improve their conceptual thinking in photography. Concentrating on the domestic space as subject matter, it develops critical thinking and the use of appropriate visual language to stories that go beyond the ‘happy snap’.  In this context we will discuss the work of a renown photographers from the past to present, and set practical exercises, that use the home as a context.

workshop 3 - space and light

This course is designed specifically for online delivery with participants working from home. 

It is geared towards photographers who want to further develop the formal quality of their photographs to create a ‘professional look’ for their images. Looking at space and light within a domestic setting we will discuss the work of renown photographers from the past to present and introduce principles of design relevant to photography. The course includes practical sessions and a review of images taken during the course.
